The National Cannabis Festival is just around the corner and we’re excited to share what’s in store. Our Education Pavilions are jam-packed with high quality panels and panelists you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re interested in learning how to make decadent canna-cuisine or learning about creating a more equitable cannabis industry, we’ve got you covered. This year our pavilions include Policy, Culture, Wellness, Culinary and of course, the Grow School.
The Grow School
Are you interested in growing your own cannabis, but just never know where to start?
Check out the “Intro to Home Cultivation” panel where you can learn from experts Carmin Ruggiero, Brandon Rossi and Alan Amsterdam. They’ll take you through the in’s and out’s of home cultivation, from the best nutrient choices to pruning and harvesting.
Ready to dig little deeper and learn about the next big thing in agriculture?
Join natural farmers and National Cannabis Championship judges Colby and Philip Freiseis as they share about Korean natural farming concepts and philosophies. You definitely don’t want to miss founder of the Cultivation Classic, Jeremy Plumb debunk canna myths about the correlation between THC potency and enjoyment. All this and more can be found in the grow school.
The Culture Pavilion
Pitch Contest
If you liked Shark Tank, you’ll love CannaTank; which features four very special canna-preneurs pitching their business ideas to our panel of judges on the day of the festival. Stop by the Culture Pavilion on the day of the festival to see which canna-preneur wins the funding to launch their ideas from dream to reality.
Campaign Trail
Trail Blazer and US Senate Candidate (LA) Gary Chambers who made history with his 37 seconds campaign ad will be joined by Gubernatorial Candidate (MD) Doug Gansler for a very special sit down in the Culture Pavilion. We’re doing it for the culture this year and covering everything from Crypto and Cannabis to Cannabis Tourism and navigating 420 friendly destinations as a marginalized person.
Policy Pavilion
From the local government to federal, we’re delving into the most pressing policy issues in the Policy Pavilion. Check out, “Adult-Use Cannabis: Why is DC so Far Behind?” as panelists examine the challenges of legalization in Chocolate City and obstacles faced thus far. Put your policy hat on and listen in on “The Emerging Federal Consensus: How and when we will legalize?,” to hear from the advocates working behind-the-scenes and in the halls of Congress to advance the MORE Act.
Culinary Pavilion
Cooking demos, panel discussions and eating contests abound in the Culinary Pavilion at NCF. Get your fill during one of the ice cream, hot dog and pizza eating contests, and if you still have room, stick around to learn from the renowned Chef’s and cannabis cooking experts taking the stage throughout the day. Want to polish up on your home-cooking techniques? Stop by the home-cooking class to learn from Mark with Pink Fox. Interested to hear how cannabis may impact restaurants and bars i the region? Check out our talk featuring Chefs and Owners representing some of the DMV’s most popular restaurants.
Wellness Pavilion
Want to get in touch with your highest self? Stop by the Wellness Pavilion and join us for a midday yoga session. Founder of the Balanced Veterans Network, Ron Millward will be moderating “Hope for Our Heroes: Alternative Solutions to Healing,” where he will be joined by other veterans as they share about alternate approaches to mental wellbeing post service. Nathalie Farfan of La Brujas Club will be sharing a decolonized approach to cannabis as a method of healing in the “Spiritual Connection to Plant Medicine” with special guest Rohan Marley.
