Cultural Highs with the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities

Backyard Band performing at NCF

One only has to look at the NCF Artist Spotlight posts over the past couple of months, including Dior Ashley Brown and The Filthy Animals, Footwerk, Proverbs Reggae Band, and RDGLDGRN, to see that there is a diversity and richness to our local music communities and creatives.

Across the DMV, there is a related patchwork of arts agencies providing support at city, county, and state levels to artists and creatives. In addition to the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, our region is home to the Arts and Humanities Council of Falls Church, the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts, the Arlington Commission for the Arts, the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, the Prince George's Arts & Humanities Council, the Maryland State Arts Council, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. All of these organizations work to cultivate and preserve local culture through grant distribution, workshops and community programs.

Building on the DMV’s foundation of cultural diversity and collaborative support, the National Cannabis Festival is not just a gathering—it's a celebration of the interconnectedness of art, community, and advocacy. Beyond the pulsating rhythms and electrifying performances, there's a deeper resonance—an acknowledgment of the transformative power of creativity and collective action.

As we come together to revel in the shared experience of music, art, and culture, we also recognize the opportunity to amplify voices, raise awareness, and inspire change. It's a testament to the potency of art as a catalyst for social progress and a reminder of the immense potential that lies within our vibrant communities.

We are stoked to be a part of this year’s festival. We invite you to stop by our tent and say hello!
